Spring Rain, Vibrant Foliage - East of Lincoln, Montana
Spring rainfall last night and into this morning punched up the colour vibrancy east of Lincoln, Montana, and made for a gorgeous Montana road trip day. (Now we just need those fruitful clouds to head north and tamp down Alberta’s wildfires and smoky skies, please Lord.)

Paint-the-World Pots - Yellowstone National Park

and there is no end to illusion.
Life is a train of moods
like a string of beads,
and, as we pass through them,
they prove to be many-colored lenses
which paint the world their own hue, and
each shows only what lies in its focus. "
- Ralph Waldo Emerson, from Essay ll, Experience

Wall Art - Missoula, Montana
“Art is an evolutionary act. The shape of art and its role in society is constantly changing. At no point is art static. There are no rules.”

Melting Colour, Missoula, Montana
“I then realized that I could never be satisfied again with the mere natural charm of my voice, that I had to constantly paint when singing, melting all the colors, expressing reds and blacks that had to be less primary but bursting with subtly colored combinations.”

Colourful Sound, Hamilton, Montana
Everytime I attend a live music performance involving sonic reinforcement, I'm pleasantly distracted by the colours and patterns of the audio equipment. Cables curving in random, sinuous patterns, pots and sliders in orderly rows, gear lights rhythmically blinking - it's a veritable visible feast of the small-scale variety.
I also give a glance to the actual gear, since my husband is constantly on the lookout for updgrades to his system that also simplify set-up. Digital versions of traditional gear are becoming increasingly commonplace. For a show at the Stevensville Playhouse this week, my husband & his cohort are borrowing my laptop, on which they've installed a mixer program, just to have a backup. Progress never sleeps.

Bitterroot River, Sinuous Roots, Woodside, Montana - Colour
The amazing thing about this view at the Woodside Cutoff river access - as with so many in Montana - is that you can be dazzled without even having to leave the parking lot.
And, in case you wonder, yes, the slanting sun slathered on all that glorious gold in real life.
So, now that you can view both the colour and B&W versions, "What did this do to you? Tell me. And remember, this is for posterity so be honest. How do you feel? " - Count Rugen
