Reflect, Stevensville, Montana
A couple days of rain have finally cleared the last lingering haze from this fall’s forest fires, but this photo represents well most of our late summer in Western Montana: hazy horizons, but clear blue skies straight up above.
This image could be a metaphor for internal striving - what is my chosen focus and reflection in my present circumstance? Hmmmm…..deep thoughts.

Low Water, Lee Metcalf Refuge Stevensville, Montana
“Hear the summons night and day
Calling us to come away.
From the heights we leap and flow
To the valleys down below.
Always answering to the call,
To the lowest place of all.
Sweetest urge and sweetest pain,
To go low and rise again.”
- From “The Water Song” from "Hinds Feet on High Places" by Hannah Hurnard

Graceful Dialogue, Stevensville, Montana
"The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs towards him." ~Auguste Rodin

Evening View, Stevensville, Montana
“All around me darkness gathers,
Fading is the sun that shone,
We must speak of other matters,
You can be me when I'm gone
Flowers gathered in the morning,
Afternoon they blossom on,
Still are withered in the evening,
You can be me when I'm gone.”
