The Living's Easy - Superior, Montana

With temps at 102 degrees F this past weekend (yes, a new record for Missoula in June), we were glad for the invite to a friend's place on the river near Superior, Montana. Dappled shade, a hammock, cool river water and a sandy beach nearby - perfect inspiration to be singing with Ella, "Summertime ...& the living's easy...".

Lemonade and hot dogs on the grill - it doesn’t get more quintessential American summertime than that.

(Tofu dogs aren’t quite the same, but we understand. At least one knows what one is getting with a tofu dog. But that takes away some of the mystery and adventure, though, doesn't it? Or perhaps I need to get out more...)

Our neighbor's Penny Cat could sing along with Sam Cooke, "...summertime, and the living's easy....". She pops over to schmooze, snack, and sleep - pretty much what our Tigger does at their house....it's a lovely, sympathetic neighborhood.
