OutStanding Individualism - South of Anaconda, Montana

"You look at a herd of cattle and well, they all look the same... but they know. They all have an individual personality, and those personalities change from day to day. They can have their grumpy days and their happy days and their serene days. But it's unpredictable. You can't be off in outer space when you're dealing with animals." - Chris Cooper

Unfiltered Joy - Missoula, Montana

O!My!Gosh! Among authors, I gush over Craig Johnson. And for guitarists, I will unashamedly gush about The Best Husband Ever - and also for Jonny Lang and his fabulous band, who incredibly rocked Missoula's historic Wilma Theatre Monday night, along with stellar front band, Runaway SaintsThe Wilma's classic concert hall was graced many, many years ago by another blues/Gospel great, the amazing Mahalia Jackson. I am inspired by their unfiltered joy.

Crow - Missoula, Montana

"I saw a crow building a nest, I was watching him very carefully, I was kind of stalking him and he was aware of it. And you know what they do when they become aware of someone stalking them when they build a nest, which is a very vulnerable place to be? They build a decoy nest. It's just for you." - Tom Waits
