Snowfall Over Rattlesnake Creek - Missoula, Montana

"...In tiny spherule traced with lines
Of Nature’s geometric signs,
In starry flake, and pellicle,
All day the hoary meteor fell;..."

- from "Snow-Bound: A Winter Idyl" by John Greenleaf Whittier

Some of my best winter memories are bounded by snow days. Pity the forever warm-clime dwellers who know no such frosty delight!

  1. this is the land where a River Runs Through it! (I watched that movie yesterday)

Gorgeous pic coupled with lines from a favorite poem/poet! My kids are already watching the forecast and uttering those sacred-sweet words...snow day?!

    1. Great snow day movie! The setting of town of Lolo, Montana, is just 10 minutes south down the highway from Missoula.
And, now that you mention it, I can hear strains of Whittier's influence in some of your verse
