Sanctuary And Silence - Paradise, Montana

"Perhaps the most important thing we bring to another person is the silence within us...Not the sort of silence that is filled with unspoken criticism or hard withdrawal. The sort of silence that is a place of refuge, of rest, of acceptance of someone as they are.
We are all hungry for this other silence.
It is hard to find. In its presence we can remember something beyond the moment, a strength on which to build a life.
Silence is a place of great power and healing.
Silence is God’s lap.”"

- Rachel Naomi Remen, M.D., from My Grandfather’s Blessings

    1. That was, indeed, the clincher to use this quote!

  3. No mention of the photographer's physical position when capturing this shot?

    1. A bit of crouchy balancing to keep individual feet on patches of shoreline grass overlaying the firm but muddy bank.... Friend J. standing slightly behind me may have been accidentally moon-struck. (Hah! That just popped in my head! I hope you get it, bcuz it's making me chuckle all on my own right now!)

  4. I prefer the ignorance of the photographer's physical position after watching a photo shoot too close to the raging Yellowstone River. Great shots, taken, of coure.
