Worth the Wait - Mailboxes, Near Kalispell, Montana

Big thanks to Sister #3 for today’s musings & Big Sky view during her recent Montana meanderings.

Rural mailboxes captured my imagination, reminders that some things in life are worth waiting for.

"I love the rebelliousness of snail mail, and I love anything that can arrive with a postage stamp. There's something about that person's breath and hands on the letter."

-Diane Lane in interview with Steve "Frosty" Weintraub, Sept. 26, 2008

Dream Gateway - Near Kalispell, Montana (Guest Post!)

Named for Spring Creek that runs - above AND below ground - through its 100 acres, this ranch north of Kalispell, Montana, was deeded into a conservation trust. Future generations (human, furry, fishy, fern-y, all and sundry...) benefit by protection from development that allows native wildlife and habitat to flourish. (The gateway fascinated…a portal for hopeful dreams…. )

Many thanks to Pat Richards for today’s view and musing fodder. Read more of her tales of true adventure here AND hard copy/Kindle compiled stories here.

Forsythia on Red Door, Kalispell, Montana

Holiday Repost: 27 April 2012
Forsythia  - which is on my list of "plants to acquire" - adds to the cheery welcome of this red door at Christ Church Episcopal, just down the block from my friend's new home in Kalispell. (Funny enough, even though I took about 20 varied shots, it wasn't until I got home & zoomed in to check photo quality that I clued in that the blooms are silk!)

Old Courthouse At Dusk, Kalispell MT

The old Courthouse in Kalispell, Montana, is hard to miss if you go into town, since traffic splits directions to go around it.  I always feel like it's the grand welcome to the historic downtown.
