Well I remember summer afternoons spent seated on rocks, dangling my toes in the glacial waters. I regret not paying attention to the colours and textures of an impressionist painting. Perhaps scenes like this inspired the heavy, multilayered brush strokes that bring such paintings to life.
Amanda, i have pics of your tow-headed self in the glacial waters at Blodgett Campground. You were fully engaged in the setting - and I think the surrounding textures and detail and loveliness seeped into your soul pores to come through all these years later in your writing.
